Albania and Kosovo ease border control

PRISTINA, June 16 (Tanjug) - Albanian and Kosovo interior ministers, Ljuljzim Basa and Bajram Redzepi, signed in Morina, near Kuks, on Wednesday an agreement which will facilitate the movement of Kosovars and Albanians.

The agreement will be in effect during the three summer months when people from Kosovo travel to the Albanian seaside in droves.

Under the new agreement, each country's customs officials will only perform passport checks on the people entering the country.

Macedonian and Kosovo authorities to investigate mass graves

SKOPJE, June 16 (Tanjug) - The Macedonian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Macedonian and Kosovo authorities are discussing a future investigation into the claims that Kosovo civilians killed in the 1998-1999 war in Kosovo were buried in Macedonia.

The ministry confirmed the information posted by an Albanian news portal, where Kosovo Ambassador to Macedonia Skender Durmisi was quoted as saying that a joint investigation by the Macedonian and Kosovo authorities should determine if the graves in question indeed contain the bodies of Kosovo civilians killed by Serbian forces.

The Macedonian Justice Ministry says there are no indications that those are mass graves, but instead those of individuals who were possibly killed in Kosovo during the war and brought to Macedonia to be buried.

The Kosovo Justice Ministry requested an investigation into the possible gravesites last month.

Durmisi stated that Kosovo's and Macedonia's justice ministers, Bajram Redzepi and Gordana Jankulovska, would meet soon to discuss the details of the investigation.

The Macedonian Interior Ministry has no information about this, and the Government Spokesperson Martin Martinovski says that the government has not discussed the issue.

KOSOVO-INVESTIGATION-FEITH

Feith confident in EULEX investigation on corruption

PRISTINA, June 16 (Tanjug) - International Civilian Representative in Kosovo Pieter Feith said he was confident the EULEX investigation into government corruption in Kosovo would bring results, adding that in democratic societies, the officials who are put under investigation file their resignation.

Feith told Koha Ditore, a Kosovo daily, that he did not wish to imagine the situation that would happen if it turned out that the EULEX investigation against Kosovo's Telecommunications Minister Fatmir Ljimaj lacked evidence and had no basis.

The moment will come when the prosecutor will hand all the evidence to a judge, and then the Kosovo judges will see what crimes were committed, said Feith.

According to him, it is traditional in western democracies for an official who is under invetigation or facing charges to resign.

However, it is up to the Kosovo's prime minister to decide who he is going to work with, Feith noted.

The international civilian representative commended Kosovo's Prime Minister Hasim Taci for including the government in the war against corruption.

BORDER-JEREMIC-JOURNALISTS

Jeremic: Serbia-Montenegro border is clearly demarcated

BUDVA, June 16 (Tanjug) - Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic stated in Budva, Montenegro, on Tuesday evening that the border between Serbia and Montenegro is clearly demarcated and that further talks on this issue would be jeopardizing Serbia's integrity.

When asked about the problems that arise between Montenegro and the Kosovo authorities regarding the border demarcation, Jeremic said that there is no border between Montenegro and Kosovo, but only between Montenegro and Serbia.

He added that Belgrade is at Montenegro's disposal for "any technical consideration", whereas "the talks with anybody about the border with Serbia would be jeopardizing Serbia's integrity."

At the joint press conference after the meeting of foreign affairs ministers of the Central European Initiative (CEI), Montenegrin Foreign Minister Milan Rocen pointed out that this issue is being needlessly problematized by the media.
