BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic met with Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova on Thursday to discuss further advancement of bilateral relations and stepping up of political dialogue at the highest level.
Brnabic thanked Azerbaijan for its unequivocal stance on respect of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, as well as for its vote against a decision to launch the procedure of reviewing the so-called Kosovo's application for Council of Europe membership.
Brnabic noted that the economy, trade and energy were extremely important for bilateral cooperation and added that Serbia was committed to further development and advancement of strategic cooperation.
She congratulated Azerbaijan on its Independence Day and the centenary of the birth of its national leader Haydar Aliev, the Serbian government said in a statement.
Gafarova noted that she would continue to work on further deepening of the cooperation between the two parliaments and all their bodies.
