BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic met with Bosnia and Herzegovina Armed Forces Chief of Joint Staff Maj Gen Gojko Knezevic on Wednesday, the Serbian Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

Vucevic noted that further strengthening of bilateral relations required commitment on both sides.

The parties discussed modalities that are significant for continuing the successful defence cooperation as well as the political and security situation in the Western Balkan region, the statement said.

It is only through dialogue and cooperation that long-term stability can be achieved in the region, Vucevic also noted.

He said Serbia was a guarantor of the Dayton Agreement and consistently committed to respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Speaking about bilateral defence cooperation, Vucevic said it was in line with the good political and economic relations between the two countries, and added that military-economic cooperation held major potential.
