BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said he and his team, which also includes financial experts, would travel to Brussels on Wednesday ahead of Thursday's fifth round of dialogue on Pristina's unilateral decision to ban the Serbian dinar in Kosovo-Metohija.

"We are going there in the hope of finding a solution for the dinar. although I am not optimistic, given Pristina's lack of readiness to seek solutions through compromise," Petkovic told Informer TV.

He said that, by banning the dinar, Pristina's PM Albin Kurti had banned the Kosovo-Metohija Serbs from receiving their salaries, pensions, social benefits and tuition funds while Serbian institutions, schools, hospitals and kindergartens were unable to work as a result of the decision.

He said Kurti's objective was to kill dialogue, put the survival of all Serbian institutions in jeopardy and expel the Serbs and then say: "Since there are no Serbian institutions, there will be no Community of Serb Municipalities, either."

"I do not have to tell you everything because I do not want to give Kurti an opportunity to attack our people and our institutions, but we are doing literally everything, we are doing our utmost to succeed in keeping our people (in Kosovo-Metohija) and preserving our institutions," Petkovic noted.
