BRUSSELS - Belgrade's delegation, headed by the director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic and also comprised of financial experts, met with the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak in Brussels on Thursday morning.

The meeting began shortly before 10 am, a Tanjug reporter said.

Pristina's decision to ban the Serbian dinar in Kosovo-Metohija was expected to be the main topic of the meeting.

"We are going there (to Brussels) in the hope of finding a solution for the dinar, although I am not optimistic, given Pristina's lack of readiness to seek solutions through compromise," Petkovic, who is Belgrade's chief negotiator in the dialogue, said on Tuesday.

Under a regulation by the so-called Kosovo's central bank that entered into force on February 1, the euro is the only permitted currency for cash operations.

The most recent Brussels meeting on the regulation was held on April 4.
