PRISTINA - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak has announced he would visit Belgrade and Pristina next week for discussions with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Pristina's PM Albin Kurti.

Speaking to Pristina-based Kanal10 television station, Lajcak said the meetings would address compliance with a recent agreement on vehicle licence plates and further steps to normalisation of relations under a French-German plan.

"I am planning to visit Belgrade and Pristina next week to discuss the next steps and then we will prepare the next high-level meeting between Vucic and Kurti that will be fully dedicated to the normalisation process," Lajcak was quoted as saying.

In an interview for another Albanian-language media outlet, RTV21, Lajcak said early spring of 2023 could be the deadline for a Belgrade-Pristina agreement and added that the proposed final solution was a European proposal with strong support and engagement from Germany and France.

Lajcak also said the objective was to achieve "full normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia" by the beginning of 2024.
