BELGRADE - Post of Serbia and the China Cultural Centre in Belgrade on Thursday unveiled two editions of Serbian postage stamps that honoured the iron-clad Sino-Serbian friendship in 2023.

The head of the Post of Serbia postage stamps unit Adam Sofronijevic presented the editions, titled Serbia-China: Ten Years Since The Establishment of The Belt And Road Initiative and The Culture of China, to China's charge d'affaires in Belgrade Zhang Zhe and the Centre's Director Wang Yanliang.

At a ceremony hosted by the centre, Zhang said the iron-clad friendship between Serbia and China was growing stronger and based on a broad joint interest, and added that bilateral ties were on a high level.

He noted that Serbia had been one of the first countries to respond to the Belt and Road initiative and was a major partner in it.

Speaking about the stamps honouring Chinese culture, Zhang said they featured images of four Chinese mountains inscribed in the Unesco world heritage list - Mount Taishan, Mount Huangshan, Mount Emei and Mount Wuyi.

He added that the two countries would continue to build a Belt and Road in culture and tourism and write new chapters based on mutual trust.

Sofronijevic said the friendship with China could be felt in Serbian streets as Serbians always had something nice to say about China.

He said the presidents of the two countries, Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping, had succeeded in transforming the friendship and the traditionally good relations between the two peoples into an iron-clad friendship.
