BELGRADE - In a statement on Serbia's improved ranking in the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index (GCI), the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) said "the biggest progress has been made in terms of macroeconomic indicators," where the country climbed 31 positions.

The results are "largely due to low and stable inflation, lower budget deficit, increased share of national savings in GDP and the country’s improved credit rating," it said.
