BELGRADE - The focus on enlargement is a good thing - it is a useful initiative indicating a desire for large countries to address EU enlargement in our region at least once a year, Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic said at the Belgrade Security Forum (BSF) Thursday.

At the main panel of the day, which dealt with the Berlin Process, Dacic also spoke about a major initiative to build a Nis-Pristina-Tirana motorway, which he had proposed at the first meeting of the six Western Balkan FMs.

Dacic: Status of RSHC unresolved due to pressure

BELGRADE - The status of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Centre (RSHC) in Nis is still unresolved due to great pressure over the matter, Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic said on Thursday.

"It is unresolved because of the great pressure that is being exerted, because the matter is being politicised and because we do not want it to become a subject of political disputes," Dacic told reporters during a break in the Belgrade Security Forum.

Dacic: Bilateral disputes are region's problems

BELGRADE - The EU has a great interest in the Western Balkans becoming a part of it for security reasons, too, because it is better to have the EU control security processes in the region than have it not control them, Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic said Thursday, adding that bilateral disputes were the biggest problems of the region.

"It is better to make it a part of problem-solving, rather than a region where problems are generated," Dacic told reporters during a break in the Belgrade Security Forum (BSF).
