Dacic: Kosovo is no state, cannot join Council of Europe

Pristina's announced application for membership in the Council of Europe (CoE) needs to be dismissed as groundless since Kosovo does not meet the fundamental conditions for membership status as it is not a state, Serbian FM Ivica Dacic said Friday.

BELGRADE - Pristina's announced application for membership in the Council of Europe (CoE) needs to be dismissed as groundless since Kosovo does not meet the fundamental conditions for membership status as it is not a state, Serbian FM Ivica Dacic said Friday.

Commenting on a statement by Kosovo Deputy PM Enver Hodzaj that Kosovo would this month, or in January 2018 at the latest, apply for membership in the CoE, Dacic said there were no grounds for such an application to be considered.
