RIGA - Red Star Belgrade were held to a goalless draw by Latvia's Spartaks Jurmala in Riga in the away leg of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers first round on Wednesday.

The Serbian champions produced a poor display at the start of the new football season, missing several excellent opportunities to score, in particular through striker Milan Pavkov, who replaced injured Nikola Stojiljkovic in the 17th minute.
