Stankovic: There will be no conflicts in southern Serbia

The south of central Serbia is under no threat from any kind of armed conflicts, says the head of the Serbian government's coordinating body for the Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja municipalities Zoran Stankovic, who is categorical there will be no wars in the region.

BELGRADE - The south of central Serbia is under no threat from any kind of armed conflicts, says the head of the Serbian government's coordinating body for the Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja municipalities Zoran Stankovic, who is categorical there will be no wars in the region.


In an interview to Vecernje novosti, Stankovic was commenting on rising tensions in southern Serbia following reports that ethnic Albanians from the three municipalities have requested that the Kosovo assembly adopt a resolution backing their demand for an annexation to Kosovo.
