BELGRADE - Russian President Vladimir Putin said in Belgrade Thursday his country was prepared to invest resources worth around 1.4 bln dollars in infrastructure development in Serbia, including in the Serbian section of the TurkStream gas pipeline.

"Practically, we are preparing that operation - in fact, we are launching it but, at the end of the day, everything will depend on other countries, on EU states, among others," Putin told a press conference in Belgrade.

"In the past we have tried, planned and begun to work on the South Stream (gas pipeline) but that project was halted through no fault of our own," Putin said.

"We have more than enough resources, so there are no problems there at all," he said.
