VRANJE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Friday in Vranje construction of government-subsidised housing for security forces personnel would soon also begin in Kragujevac and Kraljevo, noting that the investment would be beneficial to development of the Serbian economy and further GDP growth.

"Construction in Vranje will continue and we will soon move on to Kraljevo and Kragujevac. I believe construction in all cities will start this year," Vucic told reporters.

Companies that have joined this project are not expecting major profit but a significant reference as they know there will be more construction works in Serbia, he said.

Serbia expects the price of construction works to be lower so that the final price can be lower for the buyers as well, he said.

Members of the Serbian security forces will be able to buy flats for 400 euros per sq m in 30-year loan arrangements.

"They are the ones doing the toughest job and they always have to be prepared and risk their lives," Vucic said, adding that the wives and mothers of fallen members of security forces would also get flats.
