Dinar to remain steady with NBS backing, rate at RSD117.9464

The Serbian dinar will remain approximately steady against the euro Friday after the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) purchased 30 mln euros more on the interbank foreign exchange market and the official median exchange rate will be 117.9464 dinars.

BELGRADE - The Serbian dinar will remain approximately steady against the euro Friday after the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) purchased 30 mln euros more on the interbank foreign exchange market and the official median exchange rate will be 117.9464 dinars.
The NBS has thus bought 80 mln euros and sold 130 mln euros on the interbank foreign exchange market since the beginning of the year to curb excessive daily exchange rate fluctuations.
The dinar will strengthen against the euro by 0.2 pct m-o-m, by 0.6 pct y-o-y and by 0.2 pct relative to the beginning of the year.
The indicative exchange rate against the dollar dropped 0.4 pct to 103.7074 dinars Thursday.
The dinar rose against the dollar by 0.5 pct m-o-m, declining by 7.4 pct y-o-y and by 0.3 pct since the beginning of the year.
The dinar hit a new 2019 high against the euro Thursday as one euro was exchanged for 117.9290 dinars.
The national currency was at its lowest against the euro this year on January 29, when one euro was worth 118.4940 dinars.
