NBS buys 15 mln euros, Tuesday's euro rate RSD 117.9519

The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) bought 15 mln euros on the interbank foreign exchange market to curb excessive daily exchange rate fluctuations, making Tuesday's official median dinar-to-euro exchange rate 117.9519 dinars for one euro, the NBS announced in a statement.

BELGRADE - The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) bought 15 mln euros on the interbank foreign exchange market to curb excessive daily exchange rate fluctuations, making Tuesday's official median dinar-to-euro exchange rate 117.9519 dinars for one euro, the NBS announced in a statement.

The dinar will gain 0.1 pct against the euro m-o-m, rising 0.2 pct y-o-y and compared to the beginning of the year.

Monday's intervention included, the NBS has bought 255 mln euros and sold 130 mln euros on the interbank foreign exchange market since the beginning of the year.

The indicative exchange rate against the dollar rose 0.1 pct to 105.6160 dinars for one dollar Monday.

The dinar fell 0.5 pct against the dollar m-o-m, declining 4.8 pct y-o-y and 2.1 pct since the beginning of the year.

The dinar hit a new 2019 high against the euro on March 21 as one euro was exchanged for 117.9290 dinars.

The national currency was at its lowest against the euro this year on January 29, when one euro was worth 118.4940 dinars.
