GENEVA - The 4th Industrial Revolution is an opportunity for Serbia to catch up with the developed world, and education and creativity are two crucial areas we need to invest in, Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said Wednesday in a speech at the International Labour Conference in Geneva.

Serbia has conducted tough but necessary reforms over the past five years to achieve macroeconomic stability, improve the business environment and reduce unemployment, which has dropped to around 12 pct from 25 pct, Brnabic recalled.

Like many other countries, Serbia, too, is grappling with high youth unemployment rates, but we have seen improvements over the past few years thanks to targeted action, she said, noting that youth unemployment in Serbia had been nearly halved from 51.1 pct seven years ago.

We have developed SMEs, introduced sustainable incentives for entrepreneurs - in particular young entrepreneurs - for starting new companies and creating jobs for more people, especially in the digital sector, she said.
