BELGRADE - Meeting with a delegation of French MPs on Friday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic thanked French counterpart Emmanuel Macron for his support to a continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

Vucic thanked Macron for initiating with German Chancellor Angela Merkel the Berlin and Paris meetings in support of the dialogue and efforts to find a solution to the Kosovo-Metohija issue, which also means support to stability in the region, the presidential press office said in a statement.

Vucic noted he was looking forward to Macron's upcoming visit to Serbia, which he said reaffirmed the good and substantial bilateral ties in a year when Serbia and France were marking the 180th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Vucic briefed the French MPs on the reasons behind the standstill in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

Serbia is fully committed to the EU-facilitated dialogue in order to reach a mutually acceptable compromise solution, he said.

"For the dialogue to be continued, Pristina must lift the taxes on goods produced in central Serbia," he said.
