LONDON - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said in London late Monday she saw the EU as a successful peace project above all, as well as a project bringing a larger market and cooperation, and noted Serbia was on the European path.

After speaking at the London School of Business, Brnabic was asked about Serbia's view on the EU considering the UK was leaving the bloc.

We are heading in opposite directions, she responded.

She noted that, as someone coming from the Balkans, a region that had been through very difficult times, she perceived the EU as a peace project above all - and a very successful one.

There have been no wars in Europe for the longest time and that is thanks to the EU, Brnabic said.

The Union is much more competitive than its member states individually, she noted, adding that Serbia was, without a doubt, on the European path.
