BELGRADE - With a total 750 mln euros worth of investments, France was the biggest single investor in Serbia last year.

Sanja Ivanic, head of the French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, said a competent - rather than cheap - workforce and a good geographic position were the main points of the organisation's presentations of Serbia to French investors.

There is a momentum and the number of French companies investing in Serbia is growing, Ivanic said on the RTS morning news programme Friday.

"There are around 120 French companies operating in Serbia, including many large companies such as Vinci or Suez in Vinca. They are a significant boost to French investments in Serbia," she said.

The companies currently employ 11,000-12,000 people and the trend of growing employment is expected to continue, she said.
