Vucic, Wolters: SAF-KFOR communication key to stability

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday received US Gen Tod Wolters, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander in Europe and head of US European Command, and expressed satisfaction with good cooperation with NATO, underway in line with Serbia's military neutrality.

The NATO-led international peacekeeping forces in Kosovo-Metohija are a guarantor of security for Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, Vucic said, requesting that the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) Chief of General Staff be able to contact the KFOR commander at any time.

According to a statement from the presidential press office, he also accepted that SAF top brass be available for communication with KFOR.

Gen Wolters accepted the possibility of immediate mutual communication at any time and said this was important for maintaining stability in the region as one of the pillars of global stability.

He confirmed KFOR would continue to perform its obligations in Kosovo-Metohija in a responsible manner and backed Serbia's efforts towards maintaining stability and expanding cooperation in the region.
