Dinar to hit new high against euro, rate at RSD 117.4946

The Serbian dinar will hit a new 2019 high against the euro on Tuesday and the official median exchange rate will be 117.4946 dinars for one euro, which is a slight change from Monday, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has announced.

BELGRADE - The Serbian dinar will hit a new 2019 high against the euro on Tuesday and the official median exchange rate will be 117.4946 dinars for one euro, which is a slight change from Monday, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has announced.

The NBS bought 45 mln euros on the interbank foreign exchange market to curb major daily exchange rate fluctuations, taking the total purchased since the beginning of the year to 2.505 bln euros, while the total sold is 190 mln euros.

The dinar will rise 0.1 pct against the euro m-o-m as well as 0.6 pct y-o-y and compared to the beginning of the year.

The indicative exchange rate against the dollar dropped 0.1 pct to 106.6001 dinars for one dollar Monday.

The dinar weakened 0.3 pct against the dollar m-o-m, declining 4.0 pct y-o-y and 3.0 pct since the beginning of the year.

The dinar hit a 2019 low on January 29, when one euro was exchanged for 118.4940 dinars.
