NBS sells 15 mln euros, dinar-to-euro rate RSD 117.6300

The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) on Friday sold 15 mln euros on the interbank foreign exchange market, making Monday's official median exchange rate against the euro 117.6300 dinars for one euro, which is a slight change from Friday, the central bank said in a statement.

BELGRADE - The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) on Friday sold 15 mln euros on the interbank foreign exchange market, making Monday's official median exchange rate against the euro 117.6300 dinars for one euro, which is a slight change from Friday, the central bank said in a statement.

The dinar will remain steady against the euro m-o-m, rising 0.8 pct y-o-y and 0.5 pct compared to the beginning of the year.

The indicative exchange rate against the dollar grew 0.1 pct to 105.5925 dinars for one dollar on Friday.

The dinar rose 0.7 pct against the dollar m-o-m, declining 2.1 pct y-o-y and since the beginning of the year.

The NBS has bought 2.535 bln euros and sold 205 mln euros on the interbank foreign exchange market since the beginning of the year to curb excessive daily exchange rate fluctuations.

The dinar hit a new 2019 high against the euro zone currency on October 15 as one euro was exchanged for 117.4946 dinars.

It hit its 2019 low against the euro on January 29, when one euro was exchanged for 118.4940 dinars.
