TOKYO - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic, who is on a visit to Japan, on Wednesday held meetings with several Japanese investors and with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Governor Tadashi Maeda.

"The most important news I am bringing from Japan is that JBIC is interested in going to Serbia to invest there. I met with Governor Maeda, and we will now establish much more intensive communication with the bank to get them to Serbia and enable them to open funds for our country and our companies, for research and development, science, education and investors, as well as funds that will pave the way for Serbia-Japan economic cooperation," she said in Tokyo.

She said Maeda would soon visit Serbia for the start of discussions on establishing an investment fund in the country.

Recapping the visit, she said the Serbian delegation in Japan "met with PM (Shinzo) Abe, and we also had meetings with a parliamentary friendship group, with the Japan-Serbia Friendship Society, to further strengthen economic as well as political relations."

"We also met with existing investors in Serbia - those that have already invested in Serbia - to see if they are satisfied and what their future plans are," she said, noting that she had also met with investors that still had no presence in Serbia but were interested in investing in the country in the future.
