BELGRADE - Serbia is Europe's second-best performer in terms of GDP growth in Q3 2019, which is also reflected in a rise of incomes, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Friday.

Speaking to reporters, Vucic said figures for seven European countries were still pending but that those countries had definitely not had higher growth.

"Serbia is behind Hungary, which had 4.8 pct growth in Q3 2019, while our growth was at 4.7 pct. Poland and Lithuania have 4.1 pct and 4.2 pct growth, respectively," he said.

Vucic recalled the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) had revised its 2019 growth projection from 3.5 pct to 3.6 pct.

"We expect GDP growth to be at least 3.8 pct this year, but (NBS Governor) Jorgovanka Tabakovic always has to be conservative when making estimates," said Vucic, who expects Serbia to be the top performer in Europe when it comes to Q4 2019 GDP growth.
