PARIS - Serbia has done a large part of the work when it comes to digitalisation by introducing a series of laws and incentives, but this now needs to be presented to investment funds that would be prepared to invest in Serbia, says PM Ana Brnabic, who will travel to the US in two weeks' time to attract investors.

"My trip will begin in the Silicon Valley, excellent meetings have been organised for us, we want to present Serbia and I am hoping for a serious inflow of funding from investment funds as early as in 2020," she said.

Serbia has introduced excellent laws and good legal and tax incentives for investing in IT, innovative startups and research centres, she told Serbian reporters after attending the GovTech summit in Paris on Thursday.

"What follows now is the second part of the work - presenting this to the largest investment funds and the most influential people and inviting them to invest in Serbia," she said.

She said Serbia and Estonia were today recognised as Europe's leaders in digitalisation.

"That is a great success, it means a lot to our economy and, hopefully, to our startups and innovative companies as well," she said.
