BELGRADE - Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali has said the Financial Times ranked Serbia as the leader in attracting foreign investment.

"The Financial Times ranks Serbia as the number one country in terms of attracting foreign investment. In the first eight months of this year, we had over 40 pct more foreign investment than in the same period of last year," Mali said in an appearance on Studio B TV at the weekend.

He also said he would go to the parliament on November 20 to present the 2020 budget, 45 laws and tax facilities, which he said were aimed at creating an even better business environment in Serbia.

He said relieving the economy of the burden of taxes and contributions was an important element.

"Last year, the burden was 63 pct, so we reduced it to 62 pct, and next year we will reduce it by a further 1 pct to 61 pct," Mali said.
