KRALJEVO - The Morava Airport, situated near Kraljevo, central Serbia, has been officially assigned a code by the International Air Transport Association at the request of Air Serbia, says the airport's director Dragan Bugarinovic, who expects applications in a tender to select an airline that will operate flights to Vienna and Thessaloniki.

The airport's code is KVO, Bugarinovic told the RTS.

The tender expires on Thursday and the first flights from the airport are expected to take off in December.

The Morava Airport is the product of a conversion of the former Ladjevci military airport to a military-civilian one.

A few days ago, the Ministry of Defence received 155 mln dinars from the government for additional works at the airport that will extend the runway, enable low-visibility flying and activate the light identification system.
