BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday said a motorway connecting Ruma, northwestern Serbia, and Sabac, western Serbia, along with a modern bridge across the Sava River, would be completed in three years.

Vucic announced this after a contract to build the motorway section was signed with representatives of the construction company Azvirt.

Speaking at a press conference, Vucic said a high-speed motorway from Sabac to Loznica in western Serbia would be completed by the end of 2023.

"We are doing enormous work, we want the people living in that region to stay there - that will be the lifeline of the entire Podrinje region and bring new investment to that part of the country as well as much higher numbers of tourists," he said.
