NBS sells 10 mln euros, Thursday's dinar-to-euro rate RSD 117.5344

The Serbian dinar will remain approximately steady against the euro on Thursday and the official median exchange rate will be 117.5344 dinars for one euro, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has announced in a statement.

BELGRADE - The Serbian dinar will remain approximately steady against the euro on Thursday and the official median exchange rate will be 117.5344 dinars for one euro, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has announced in a statement.

The NBS intervened by selling 10 mln euros on the interbank foreign exchange market to curb major daily exchange rate fluctuations and the total purchased since the beginning of the year is 2.730 bln euros, while the total sold is now 285 mln euros.

The dinar will grow 0.1 pct against the euro m-o-m, rising 0.7 pct y-o-y and 0.6 pct compared to the beginning of the year.

The indicative exchange rate against the dollar was steady at 106.0876 dinars for one dollar on Wednesday. The dinar dropped 0.6 pct against the dollar m-o-m, declining 2.0 pct y-o-y and 2.5 pct since the beginning of the year.

The dinar hit a new 2019 high against the euro zone currency on November 18 as one euro was exchanged for 117.4333 dinars.

The dinar was at its 2019 low against the euro on January 29, when one euro was exchanged for 118.4940 dinars.
