BELGRADE - Security and Information Agency (BIA) analytics chief Relja Zeljski said late Wednesday a Russian intelligence officer shown in a YouTube video giving money to a man reported to be a Serbian security official had unequivocally been identified as Russian agent Georgiy Kleban.

When asked by the RTS whether the other man in the footage was an operative of the BIA, the Military Security Agency or another Serbian institution, Zeljski declined to elaborate.

"Our agencies - the civilian as well as the military agency - are engaged very intensively in establishing all the circumstances," he said, adding that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic would give details of the case after a National Security Council meeting late Thursday.

"It is very important to note at this time that subversive intelligence work underway in the territory of the Republic of Serbia - and it is de facto underway - should by no means be associated only with the Russian Federation. On the contrary, other major powers, such as the US, the UK and France, as well as regional players - I will only mention Croatia and Albania - are also working very intensively on achieving their interests, which is always expected in international relations and international politics," he said.
