Brnabic, Zhang discuss reforms, cooperation

Serbian PM Ana Brnabic and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Deputy Managing Director Tao Zhang met on Thursday in Belgrade to discuss the results of Serbia's structural reforms and the cooperation between the Serbian government and the IMF.

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Deputy Managing Director Tao Zhang met on Thursday in Belgrade to discuss the results of Serbia's structural reforms and the cooperation between the Serbian government and the IMF.

Recapping the results of the implementation of an arrangement with the IMF, Brnabic said the cooperation was very good and noted that Serbia was continuing complex reforms.

She said the IMF's assistance was significant for maintaining the progress achieved and for creating a favourable climate for more investment in Serbia.

Zhang commended the government's commitment to implementing reforms and noted that the IMF would continue to provide full support for key reforms.

They also discussed activities aimed at creating conditions for the most favourable business environment possible and said the achieved stability and good economic conditions had resulted in great investor interest in long-term investment in Serbia.

They also commended the GDP growth, which will be at least 3.5 pct in 2019 and is expected to reach 4 pct in 2020, an official statement said.
