NBS buys 25 mln euros more, dinar-to-euro rate RSD 117.5248

The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) bought 25 mln euros more on the interbank foreign exchange market, making Friday's official dinar-to-euro median exchange rate 117.5248 dinars for one euro, which is a slight change from today, the NBS said.

BELGRADE - The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) bought 25 mln euros more on the interbank foreign exchange market, making Friday's official dinar-to-euro median exchange rate 117.5248 dinars for one euro, which is a slight change from today, the NBS said.

The dinar will remain steady against the euro m-o-m, rising 0.7 pct y-o-y and 0.6 pct compared to the beginning of the year.

The indicative exchange rate against the dollar slid 0.1 pct to 105.6308 dinars for one dollar on Thursday.

The dinar rose 1.0 pct against the dollar m-o-m, declining 1.5 pct y-o-y and 2.1 pct since the beginning of the year.

The latest intervention included, the NBS has bought 2.770 bln euros and sold 405 mln euros since the beginning of the year to curb excessive daily exchange rate fluctuations.

The dinar hit a new 2019 high against the euro zone currency on November 18 as one euro was exchanged for 117.4333 dinars.

The dinar was at its 2019 low against the euro on January 29, when one euro was exchanged for 118.4940 dinars.
