BELGRADE - Serbia's flagship carrier Air Serbia plans to add two airliners to its fleet in 2020 to boost its total carrying capacity by 12 pct in Q1 2021.

Jiri Marek, Air Serbia's GM Commercial and Strategy, has declined to elaborate on the type of aircraft to be added to the company's fleet next year, the Exyuaviation portal reported.

According to the report, Marek said the company was one of the fastest-growing carriers in southeastern Europe.

B92.net on Thursday reported Air Serbia would also need more aircraft for new routes it planned to operate from three Serbian airports in 2020, and recalled that the company had this year added to its fleet a ninth Airbus A319 aircraft and leased a Bombardier CRJ900 last summer.

Air Serbia also plans to increase the number of charter flights next year.
