DAVOS - The World Economic Forum in Davos is an excellent place where much can be heard in a short period of time and major contacts established to the benefit of Serbia, President Aleksandar Vucic said ahead of the opening of the WEF on Monday.

"For Serbia, it is very important to be in Davos and to be well-represented," Vucic told reporters in Davos, recalling that Serbia was attending the WEF for a sixth consecutive year.

That is very significant for improving Serbia's position and for discussions with businesspeople, he said.

"We now have an opportunity to talk about the investment environment and invite people to continue to invest in Serbia," he said.

He added that he would address two major panels - an economic panel and a purely political panel on the Western Balkans, where he said he would speak about his take on the future, the Little Schengen initiative, economic cooperation and other issues.
