DAVOS - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic has met in Davos with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) President Tadashi Maeda to discuss setting up a JBIC investment fund in Serbia.

"A good and concrete meeting with Maeda; we will continue discussions about JBIC presence in Serbia, and he confirmed he will visit Serbia by end-year," Brnabic on Thursday told reporters in Davos, where she was attending the World Economic Forum.

Until Maeda's visit, Serbian and Japanese teams will be discussing ways the JBIC can set up an investment fund in Serbia, in particular in the field of innovation and startups, as well as ways the fund can cooperate with the Serbian Science Fund, she added.

She recalled that the Serbian and Japanese ministries of finance signed on November 27 last year a bilateral agreement on avoidance of double taxation, which she said "opens even further the door" to better economic cooperation and more Japanese investment in Serbia.
