NIS dominates BELEX stock trading

The petroleum company Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS) dominated by far the stock market on the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BELEX) Monday amid solid investment activity, while both indices fell.

BELGRADE - The petroleum company Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS) dominated by far the stock market on the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BELEX) Monday amid solid investment activity, while both indices fell.

The overall turnover was 47 mln dinars (400 thousand euros).

The BELEX15 index dropped nearly 0.4 pct, closing at 797.82 points, while BELEXline plummeted 1.3 pct to 1,719.65 points.

NIS was the top gainer of the day, rising 1.2 pct to 759 dinars, and also saw a 34 mln dinar turnover.

Jubmes banka generated a strong 10.2 mln dinar turnover but was also the biggest loser of the day, dropping 13.8 pct to 6,032 dinars.

Gornji Milanovac-based cookware maker Metalac dropped 3.8 pct to 1,981 dinars, registering a turnover of around 0.5 mln dinars, similar to the one generated by the wind power company Fintel Energija, which slid 1.1 pct to 643 dinars.

The Sevojno-based Impol Seval aluminium rolling mill dropped 0.5 pct to 3,484 dinars and generated a 0.3 mln dinar turnover.

The dinar-denominated RSO18171 series of Serbian government bonds, maturing in January 2023, saw a turnover just shy of 1.1 mln dinars, with foreign investors accounting for 50 pct of the amount.
