LJUBLJANA - Businessman Izet Rastoder, who last week acquired Slovenia's defunct airline Adria Airways, is also interested in a stake in Montenegro Airlines, which has been looking for a buyer for years, Ljubljana-based daily Finance said.

The Berane, Montenegro-born entrepreneur, known under the nickname of "Banana King" due to his huge banana business, acquired the remains of the Slovenian flagship carrier through his newly-established company Air Adriatic and the Slovenian government is to consider co-investing in the new airline, the report said.

Rastoder had already discussed the matter with Nena Dokuzov from the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, and Minister Zdravko Pocivalsek is considering a potential government joint venture with Rastoder, but under the condition that the name of the airline includes the name "Slovenia," Montenegro-based portal Investitor reported.
