NOVI SAD - A 26 mln euro science technology park for the Novi Sad Faculty of Technical Sciences was opened Wednesday.

Until 2014, Serbia had no science technology parks, and by the end of the term of its present government, it will have four such parks and an entire network of startup centres, PM Ana Brnabic said at the opening ceremony.

"This is a special day, a dream come true for all of us together. We set as our goal a transformation of the whole society and, today, we have a substantially better future for the generations to come," she said.

Igor Mirovic, head of the Vojvodina provincial government, said the 30,000 sq m park would ensure top working conditions to 3,000 students and 400 professors at the faculty.

In mid-2020, office space in the park will also be leased out to startups and IT companies.
