Alfa plam soars on BELEX, indices in red territory

Vranje-based heater and stove manufacturer Alfa plam dominated the stock market activity on the first day of the shortened trading week on the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BELEX) as both indices declined and dinar-denominated government bonds saw a high turnover.

BELGRADE - Vranje-based heater and stove manufacturer Alfa plam dominated the stock market activity on the first day of the shortened trading week on the Belgrade Stock Exchange (BELEX) as both indices declined and dinar-denominated government bonds saw a high turnover.

The overall turnover was 398 mln dinars (approx. 3.4 mln euros).

The BELEX15 index declined 0.4 pct, closing at 814.35 points, while BELEXline slid 0.3 pct to 1,763.16 points.

Alfa plam saw a 23.3 mln dinar turnover at a steady price of 26,500 dinars and the petroleum company Naftna industrija Srbije fell almost 0.7 pct to 740 dinars and registered an 8.3 mln dinar turnover.

Preferred stocks of tobacco producer Philip Morris dropped 0.5 pct to 6,227 dinars, generating a turnover just shy of 1.3 mln dinars.

Sevojno-based manufacturing and assembly company remained at 6,958 dinars, recording a 0.8 mln dinar turnover, while the city's aluminium rolling mill Impol Seval rose 0.4 pct to 3,536 dinars, with a turnover of around 0.4 mln dinars.

Komercijalna banka preferred stocks were steady at 1,000 dinars and saw a 0.25 mln dinar turnover, while Belgrade-based transport company Lasta was the top gainer of the day, rising 2 pct to 714 dinars, and generated a 0.1 mln dinar turnover.

The RSO18171 series of dinar-denominated Serbian government bonds, which mature in January 2023, saw a 362.3 mln dinar turnover.
