Ristic: Procedure of 5G network rollout launched in Serbia

NOVI SAD - Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristic announced on Friday the launch of the procedure of rolling out a 5G network in Serbia.

"The 5G rollout procedure begins starting from today and will be completed in the coming months. Application and production of 5G starts in mid-next year," Ristic said at a panel at the International Vehicles Days – EV Days event in Novi Sad.

The launch of the procedure includes the publication of the draft rules on the minimum requirements for the issuance of individual permits for the use of the radio frequency spectrum and 30-day public consultations.

"The debate will be underway both in person and online, after which the signature by the minister of information and telecommunications will mark the start of an international auction," said Ristic, who expects the procedure to be completed by May next year.
