BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic on Friday met with representatives of the Japanese company Toyo Tires, which is satisfied with the business environment in Serbia and plans to expand its investments in Indjija, in the northwest of the country.
Vucevic noted that a new Toyo Tires investment was important news for the Serbian economy and a key message to all investors from Japan and other countries to come and invest in Serbia.
He said Toyo Tires operations were one of the largest Japanese investments in Serbia, making an important economic contribution to the local community and Serbia as a whole, the Serbian government said in a statement.
He said a new Toyo Tires plant would create jobs for high-skilled professionals.
Vucevic invited Toyo Tires representatives to take part in hosting the specialised EXPO 2027 in Serbia and added that it would be an opportunity to invest, especially in infrastructure projects.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic, who is also in charge of the Ministry of Internal and External Trade in a caretaker capacity.
