Ristic: 2024 a record year for Serbian ICT sector, surplus exceeded 4 bln euros

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristic said on Friday 2024 had been a record year for the Serbian ICT sector, with an export surplus of over 4 bln euros.

"Relative to 2023, which was an absolutely record year until then, in 2024 we registered constant 20 pct growth relative to the previous year. That means that we had an ICT service and product export surplus of 3.44 bln euros. We reached that volume in the first ten months of 2024. Also, 115,000 people are working in the ICT sector. Average salaries are close to 250,000 dinars net and the number of employees is rising between three and five percent a year," Ristic told Tanjug.

He also announced a procedure for a 5G network roll-out in Serbia was due to be completed in mid-2025.
