BELGRADE - The Gazprom neft stake in Serbia's Russian majority-owned oil company NIS dropped from 50 pct to 44.84 pct on Wednesday, according to two notifications published by NIS on the Belgrade Stock Exchange website.
In parallel, Gazprom's stake in the company rose from 6.15 pct to 11.30 pct.
Gazprom neft is a daughter company of Gazprom.
US sanctions on NIS are due to enter into force at 6 am Thursday.
Prior to the change, Gazprom neft had a 50 pct stake in the company, Gazprom had a 6.15 pct stake and the Serbian government had a 29.8 pct stake, while minority shareholders accounted for the remaining 13.98 pct, NIS also said.
