Stellantis plant in Kragujevac to also manufacture electric Citroen C3s

KRAGUJEVAC/BELGRADE - Alongside electric Fiat Grande Pandas, the Stellantis car plant in Kragujevac, central Serbia, will also be producing electric Citroen C3 cars in collaboration with a Stellantis factory in Slovakia, a union leader confirmed to Tanjug on Thursday.

Since it shares the same platform with the Grande Panda, the Citroen C3 will be manufactured in Kragujevac based on a plan developed by Stellantis years ago, said Association of Independent Trade Unions of Kragujevac leader Sasa Djordjevic.

"Our model will chiefly be the Grande Panda and, in collaboration with the Trnava plant in Slovakia, we will also be making the C3, which is their base model. Whenever they are unable to keep up with orders with the production capacities they have, we will be taking over and manufacturing some of those cars," Djordjevic said.

He added that production of the electric Citroen C3 in Kragujevac would get underway this year.

"Very soon, we expect to see Citroen C3s also being shipped out from the Kragujevac plant to Europe and the world," Djordjevic added.
