JAGODINA - Germany's SCHOTT Pharma, which manufactures glass containers for pharmaceutical companies, opened a new plant in Jagodina, central Serbia, on Thursday.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Serbia's caretaker First Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, who said investments like these further bolstered Serbia's international credibility.
He said the large-scale investment by the German company confirmed that Serbia was an attractive country for business.
"In just 15 months, after the construction of this factory began, Serbia became a country with the best credit rating, we became the third fastest-growing economy and the 8.6 pct unemployment rate is an all-time low. With 5.2 bln euros of foreign investment last year, we also became the absolute record holders when it comes to attracting FDI," Mali said.
