BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic met on Friday with an International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation led by Annette Kyobe to discuss current economic trends, results achieved by Serbia and the priorities of its economic policy for the coming period.

Mesarovic noted that Serbia's priorities were to maintain the existing business environment, preserve jobs and create new ones, bolster the national industry and boost its capacities, as well as to continue to attract FDI.

She noted that, thanks to a responsible economic policy of the government and President Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia was on the right track to further economic consolidation and strengthening and development of its economy, and that it would remain one of Europe's fastest-growing economies in spite of internal as well as global pressure, the Ministry of Economy said in a statement.

Mesarovic especially noted the significance of FDI, which exceeded 5 bln euros in 2024, and said global companies had identified Serbia as a country with a favourable business environment.
