BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic met with representatives of the Chinese companies GEB - Shandong Golden Empire Precision Machinery Technology and MINTH on Wednesday to discuss new investments in Serbia.
After meeting with MINTH representatives, Mesarovic said the company employed 3,000 people in Serbia and that, following the construction of its factories in Sabac and Loznica, it wanted to build new facilities in other parts of Serbia as well, an official statement said.
She also said GEB - Shandong Golden Empire Precision Machinery Technology was planning to build a factory to cater to the needs of renowned carmaker BMW and that Serbia had been shortlisted as a potential location of the plant.
Mesarovic said she hoped Serbia would soon receive good news regarding the large-scale investment and that, in that way, it would be confirmed again that large international companies chose Serbia as an investment destination.
That is a proof of stability and the prosperous economic policy pursued by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the Government of Serbia, Mesarovic said.
The Ministry of Economy continues to provide support to investors helping further development of the Serbian economy, she added.
