Brnabic: Five-month IT sector exports exceed 1.8 bln euros

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Tuesday Serbia's IT sector continued to register dynamic growth and that, according to the latest figures, its exports had exceeded 1.8 bln euros in the first five months of this year, rising by 17 pct y-o-y.

"If this trend continues, ICT sector exports will total almost 5 bln euros this year! Only 13 years ago, the ICT sector's annual exports were at 375 mln euros (13 times lower)," Brnabic wrote in a post on X, adding that, as parliament speaker, she would insist on the members of the parliamentary committee on education, science, technological development and information society visiting the construction sites of new science and technology parks in Kragujevac, Cacak, Nis and Krusevac to ascertain the progress of works.

It is time to work on a new development plan - Serbia 2035, she added.

"It is time to go back to work and to victories and, having put an end to blockader terror, to also put an end to divisions and to start working with President Aleksandar Vucic on a new development plan, Serbia 2035," Brnabic posted.
