Macut visits Post of Serbia centre that uses robotised parcel sorting system

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut visited on Monday a Post of Serbia regional postal and logistics centre in Belgrade that includes a new robotised parcel sorting system.

In a discussion with Post of Serbia Acting Director Zoran Andjelkovic, Macut said there was ample space to improve the public enterprise's operations, especially when it comes to IT services, and that the company also had a major development opportunity.

He noted that modernisation of Post of Serbia operations was strategically important for the country and that the government remained committed to supporting advancement of infrastructure, to technological development and to job preservation.

The discussion also addressed key issues regarding the company's financial stability, optimisation of its organisational structure and the continuation of a process aimed at modernising and digitalising its services, a government statement said.

Macut was informed of plans to build robotised logistics centres in four other Serbian cities.
